I agree with the article you cant live with them or live without them.

I remember my experience with my roommate. We didn't talk much to each other and we would never clean the house fearing that it would not be fair. If I did the cleaning today, then we both enjoy the cleanliness and I would never see him do any cleaning. So I learn to live the the dirty bathrooms and house until I graduate from college and got out of there. There was a lot of animosity between all the roommates. It was a bad experience. That's my two cents.

I've been pulling my hair out since my freshman year of high school, since i was 14. It started as just a couple strands a day and over the years got progressively worse. I started getting visable bald spots my senior year of high school. When I was 19 / 20 it starting slowing down and would fluctuate until i was pregnant at the beginning of the year. I'm not sure if it was stress or what but i can't control it.

I feel embarrassed and ashamed all the time. It took me being with my husband for two years to finally just explain what was going on to him.

I'd walk around looking at other women's hair wondering if i was the only person with this problem, and up until today i was really starting to be convinced of it. It's nice to know i'm not crazy.

Agreed on the accessories: men's bags are not only fashionable but also very useful. Also, let's not forget other accesories too, such as bracelets, necklaces and rings.
All you ahve to do is match them silver with silver and gold with gold (or golden). Mixing them denotes bad taste.
For more formal accessories, you can opt for pocket squares and shirt buttons.

I've been going through the same thing since I was 9, it was really bad that my mom shaved my head so I'd stop. I wore bandanas everyday of my life until my hair grew out two years later. I barely did it for three years and now I'm starting again. I eat the hair follicles too, I know it's year, but I'm just compelled... I pull my hairs specifically too, I hate the really coarse ones, they drive me insane, and I only pull my hair if I'm not around anyone else. I usually try to wear a hat during the day so it's easier for me to recognize when I'm about to do it, and winter gloves work great too for around the house.. I'm trying really hard and I know we can all make it past this nuisance.

its nice to know that im not the only one that suffers from this. it is extremely embarrasing and no one understands that trich is a disorder, rather you're labeled as "weird". People often make remarks behind your back or ask why you're doing that (why are you pulling out your hair?) Or they try to tell you to stop pulling. Well, if i knew WHY i was doing it and if i could stop, im sure i would. however, its not that easy.
ive started pulling in junior high for a few years and then i stopped for several years and just recently started again in the past 6 months. Im 32 years old now and cant figure out why im doing this again after i went several years and didnt at all.
But for any other sufferers, i have found that if i pull my hair up in a pony tail or in a clip, for some reason it does help the urges.
good luck to those of you who suffer as i do.

I think that this might help but I really think that with Suffolk's fast growing student population and expanding classroom buildings, hopefully the school community will be brought together. A virtual community may definitely help out temporarily but I think through developing more athletics and art oriented activities and teams would bond the school together more.

Also perhaps if a student office was made prevalent throughout the community may help too. For example if the Counseling Center sponsored more events and its presence was more well known around campus, it will provide a centralized establishment for the students. That's just my opinion though.

I pulled my hair for over 30 years. Now I am 47, and have stopped pulling for 1 year. My hair is growing back. I didn't realize what I had done was a kind of illness until about a year ago when I googled to find out if hair pulling is an illness.

My support to those who suffer from the illness. I can tell it's been hard to stop doing it. However, once you set a goal and stay on course with what you do, you will be able to stop it. I dind't talk to anyone about my illness, but decided that once and for all, this must be stopped, and I want to always look good in the public.
