Seven enthusiastic NESAD ID students joined me on a fun and informative tour of Boston's Liberty Hotel this past Thursday, April 2nd.
Our host, concierge David Sargent, (no relation to Suffolk University's President), had plenty of knowledge and fun anecdote's about the former Boston jail site.
The adaptive reuse project, was designed by Cambridge 7. Students were shown through the 90 foot high lobby, a deluxe guest room with spectacular views of the river , and the restaurants including "Clink" , "Alibi "and Lydia Shire's new "Scampo". (escape route in Italian)
An original "jail yard"was incorporated into the site planning ... and jail cell sized floor patterns, original cell keys to "solitairy" and bars on the windows add to the unique renovation.
A thoroughly intersting tour of a beautiful and unique hotel.
