In The Land of Gnomes & Giants

The Icelandic power transmission company, Landsnet, held an international competition for the redesign of the countries high-voltage transmission pylons.  Adjunct professors Thomas Shine and Jin Choi received honorable mention in the competition. Tom Yamamoto, received an “Award of Excellence” award at the American Society of Architectural Illustrators (ASAI), (www.asai.org) conference in Chicago. Adjunct  professor David Sears recently debuted his Cube Furniture Collection at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), May 17-20 at the Jacob Javitts Center in New York City.
The Cube Collection is built with sustainably harvested wood, parts of it are dyed, highlighting the figured maple grain. Traditional joinery techniques showcase the beauty of the material. [...]
