Beginning lighting students in Professor Anna Gitelman’s Intro to Lighting Course were treated to a guest lighting design workshop in late April of 2009.

The New England School of Art & Design along with the College of Arts and Science Alumni Relations Office co-hosted the NESADSU Second Annual Reception at Build Boston. Sara Chadwick, Director of Administrative Services, welcomed the evening honoree alumna Marg Dion, DIP’73, BFA’00 with a wonderful and heartfelt introduction.

The Icelandic power transmission company, Landsnet, held an international competition for the redesign of the countries high-voltage transmission pylons. Adjunct professors Thomas Shine and Jin Choi received honorable mention in the competition. The couple was honored at a ceremony that took place in Iceland this past summer.

Tom Yamamoto, received an “Award of Excellence” award at the American Society of Architectural Illustrators (ASAI), (www.asai.org) conference in Chicago. From over 500 submissions worldwide, Tom’s work was one of the final fifty that was selected by jury members to be part of a traveling exhibition.

Adjunct professor David Sears recently debuted his Cube Furniture Collection at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), May 17-20 at the Jacob Javitts Center in New York City.
